Shopee Philippines Intern Diaries 2025: Life Inside the Orange Office with Bianca Bartolo

Ever wondered what it’s like to intern at Shopee Philippines? From behind-the-scenes content creation to collaborating with multiple teams, interns get a firsthand look at what makes one of the country’s top e-commerce platforms tick.

Meet Bianca Bartolo, a 3rd-year student from De La Salle University and a Marketing Intern for Community Management. She’s spending her internship diving deep into the creative path of e-commerce, proving that work can be both “unserious” and impactful at the same time.

We sat down with Bianca to get a glimpse of life inside the vibrant orange office, hear about her ‘big girl’ Shopee finds, and uncover her journey, key learnings, and behind-the-scenes fun from her internship.

What Inspired Bianca to Join Shopee

“Shopee has always been a part of everyone’s lives,” Bianca shares. Having dipped her toes into the corporate world as a freshman, she was looking for something different for her 2025 internship.

“I wanted to see how the internal content processes work,” she explains. “I wanted to explore editing in a more creative environment compared to my past internships.”

Her curiosity wasn’t just about learning new skills—it was also about understanding how content can spark joy, laughter, and engagement among the Filipino community.

A Day in the Life: What Bianca Does at Shopee

Bianca’s role in Community Management covers the end-to-end content process—storyboarding, creating mockups, filming, editing, and approvals. “My mornings usually start by checking if there are new content requests, and then I dive into storyboarding and mockups. The editing phase is definitely my favorite because it lets me get creative and play around with graphics,” she says.

Her work spans campaigns like Doubles, Payday Sales, and Mall Day, giving her a taste of real marketing operations and collaboration across different teams. “Even though I create assets for recurring campaigns, there’s always something new happening,” Bianca adds.

Embracing Shopee’s Culture

For Bianca, Shopee’s value of “We Serve” really resonates. “I make sure my work is intentional and purposeful. Even with tight deadlines, I aim to integrate elements that our audience enjoys, like funny videos or engaging sound effects,” she explains.

This approach reflects Shopee’s mission of creating content that’s relatable, entertaining, and meaningful to the community, while also encouraging interns to bring their own creativity and care into every project.

Marketing Team: Vibe Check

When asked to describe her team’s dynamic, Bianca gave us the perfect Gen Z descriptor: “Unserious but serious.”

“It might sound contradictory at first, but it really captures our team dynamic,” she explains. “On one hand, everyone has their own sense of humor, which makes the work environment fun and creative. But when it comes to delivering content, campaigns, or projects, the team operates with focus, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility. Deadlines are met, quality is never compromised, and everyone supports each other to achieve the best results.”

Guidance and mentorship are also an important part of the experience. Even as an intern, Bianca feels included in meaningful projects and is encouraged to contribute ideas, helping her grow both professionally and creatively. At Shopee, it’s possible to enjoy a fun, collaborative environment while still learning to balance responsibility, teamwork, and high standards—truly the best of both worlds.

Key Takeaways: Skills, Growth, and Confidence

Bianca’s internship pushed her out of her comfort zone. From creative video editing to collaborating with multiple teams, she’s grown both personally and professionally.

Beyond simply expressing her ideas, Bianca has developed a realistic grasp of the corporate ecosystem, learning to navigate the often-hectic approval chains that stand between a concept and its release. She credits this rigorous cycle of revisions with teaching her patience, communication, and resilience. Ultimately, she is willing to undergo the grind because she understands that quality requires scrutiny. She reflects that ensuring the audience receives the best possible work “is what gives me a sense of fulfillment,” making every revision worth the effort.

The experience also helped her sharpen her technical and creative skills while learning how to work efficiently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What Life at Shopee Is Really Like

When we asked Bianca what interning at Shopee is really like, she said:

It’s challenging but rewarding. You push yourself to give your best, but you do it alongside people who support and share the same goals. The company culture of collaboration and learning is something I’d recommend to anyone interested in Shopee.

Her advice for future interns? Curiosity, initiative, and enjoying the process. Mistakes are part of the journey, and every day offers a chance to learn something new.
