Description

Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait Insecticide Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait features emamectin benzoate, which affects cockroaches at two different target sites. This helps provide another critical tool to effectively control cockroaches, all while following good resistance management practices. Active Ingredients: Emamectin Benzoate HRAC/FRAC/IRAC Classification: Group 6 Insecticide For use only as a crack, crevice or void space treatment in residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial areas. Do not apply to areas accessible to children, pets, or live- stock. Optigard Cockroach Gel Bait is intended for the control of cockroach pest species, including, but not limited to, German, American, Australian, Oriental, brown-banded, smoky brown and brown cockroaches. As part of a choice test, Optigard Cockroach and Vendetta® Plus were offered to a recent field-collected strain of German cockroaches ("Meriwell"). While both baits achieved more than 90 percent mortality by Day 5, Optigard Cockroach, an advanced-generation avermectin, killed cockroaches faster than Vendetta Plus. Key Features Non-repellent Broad-spectrum control of pest cockroach species, including bait averse strains Odor-free Key Benefits Remains attractive for at least two weeks after application Allows secondary kill via horizontal transfer Resists staining and dripping Helps improve health and quality of life Apply as a crack-and-crevice or void space treatment using a syringe applicator or a bait injector Application rate is dependent on the level of infestation to be controlled: For light infestations: 1 to 2 spots are recommended per one sq. yd. (9 square feet) of the treatment area For heavy infestations: 2 to 4 spots are recommended per sq. yd. (9 square feet) of the treatment area Each bait spot should equal approximately 0.25 to 0.50 grams of product (a spot approximately 3 mm or 1/8 inch in diameter equals 0.25 grams, while a spot approximately 6 mm or 1/4 inch in diameter equals 0.50 grams) Bait may also be applied as a bead approximately 1/8 inch thick and approximately 2 inches long Spots or beads should be placed into cracks, crevices, or voids at or near corners or areas where cockroaches forage Numerous smaller placements will provide faster control than fewer larger spots, especially for German cockroaches
