Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Spray Paint, 12oz Rust-Oleum® Chalked Ultra Matte Sprays create an ultra matte finish with excellent coverage and adhesion on furniture and home décor. Chalked Ultra Matte Sprays provide one coat coverage on most surfaces without special surface preparation or priming. It can be painted or distressed, giving the project a one of a kind look. It is suitable for use on wood, metal, ceramic, glass, canvas and more. Chalked Ultra Matte Sprays feature an advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any angle, even upside down for those hard to reach areas. A comfort spray tip with a wider finger pad to reduce fatigue caused by continuous spraying. TIP: Some plastics made of polyethylene such as plastic storage containers are manufactured in a way that may hinder maximum paint adhesion. Test paint in a hidden area first. HOW TO USE PRIMING Priming is not required for most surfaces. For excellent coverage, use of a Rust-Oleum primer can be used on surfaces such as bare wood and treated wood. APPLICATION Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle DO NOT STRIKE CAN. Contact Rust-Oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 10-12" from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Do not use near open flame. DRY & RECOAT Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to the touch in 20 minutes and is dry to handle in 1 hour. May be recoated in 1 hour or after 48 hours. The finish coat is fully dry in 24 hours. NOTE: On plastic, maximum paint adhesion and durability is achieved in 5-7 days. Chalked Clear Protective Topcoat can be applied for added protection. Apply according to the label instructions. DISTRESSING This paint can be distressed if desired. To distress the surface, lightly sand the surface with fine to medium grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge. Wait 2 hours before sanding or distressing. CLEAN-UP Wipe off tip before storing. Clean-up wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or place in home trash compactor. CLOGGING If the valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not insert any object into can valve opening.
