For general dye projects, use the sink or bucket method. If you are looking to achieve as vibrant a color as possible (or dyeing nylon), use the stovetop method. If you want to dye large items or are looking for the easiest dye method, then use the washing machine method. RIT-Liquid Dye. Dye clothing and accessories, rejuvenate old garments, coordinate home decor, hide laundry accidents and more. Pre-dissolved liquid is also great as a stain on unfinished wood and wicker, or use to stencil or antique. Works on silk & dried floral, nylon and plastic, or even golf balls. This package contains one 8oz bottle. Directions: Instructions: . Use 1 bottle for 2 lb. dry fabric. For dark or bright colors, double dye quantity. Add 1 cup salt to dyebath for cotton, rayon, ramie, linens or blends. Add 1 cup vinegar to dyebath for nylon, silk or wool. Stove-top method is suggested when dyeing nylon at a higher temperature. Not recommended for 100% polyester, acrylic, acetate or fabrics with special finishes, rubber-backing, cold water wash, or labeled Dry Clean Only. If in doubt, test dye a swatch. Never pour dye on a fabric. Rit® will stain plastic, fiberglass or worn porcelain tubs. Use Rit® Color Remover before dyeing to lighter or different color. Wash dyed items separately in cool water.
