Unripe habaneros are green, and they color as they mature. The most common color variants are orange and red, but the fruit may also be white, brown, yellow, green, or purple.[1] Typically, a ripe habanero is 2–6 cm (0.8–2.4 in) long. Habanero chilis are very hot, rated 100,000–350,000 on the Scoville scale.[2] The habanero's heat, flavor and floral aroma make it a popular ingredient in hot sauces and other spicy foods. How to grow peppers from seeds STEP 1: Fill a large planting tray or a multi cell seed tray to the brim with a light compost or potting soil (much better if using klassmann ts3). Break up any large clumps. Push the compost down 1-2 millimeters and water it. STEP 2: Drop individual chili seeds on top of the compost, about 2 inches (5cm) apart. Cover them lightly with more compost. Gently firm the compost and mist it lightly with a spray bottle. STEP 3: Place plastic wrap over the planting tray to lock in heat and moisture. Place the tray in a warm spot. STEP 4: Keep an eye on the planting tray to monitor growth and ensure the compost quality. The compost should be moist but not wet, and should not be watered unless it feels especially dry. Sprouting should begin after approximately 2-6 weeks. Superhot peppers germinate much longer compared to regular peppers.
