The Ateneo Art Awards catalog features the shortlisted works and essays from the Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art and the Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes in Art Criticism categories. Started in 2004, the Ateneo Art Gallery together with its partner institutions continues to give recognition to contemporary artists and art writers through the annual Ateneo Art Awards (AAA). It commemorates the founding benefactor of the gallery, Fernando Zóbel, and Art Association of the Philippines founder and art patron, Purita Kalaw – Ledesma. The shortlisted writers for the 2019 Ateneo Art Awards – Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prizes for Art Criticism were John Alexis Balaguer (Winner, Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize-Art Asia Pacific), Mariah Reodica (Winner, Purita Kalaw-Ledesma Prize- The Philippine Star), Janina Gwen Bautista, and Jeckree Mission. The shortlisted artists for for the 2019 Ateneo Art Awards – Fernando Zóbel Prizes for Visual Art were Keb Cerda (Winner), Archie Oclos (Winner; People's Choice Poll Recipient), Costantino Zicarelli (Winner), Doktor Karayom (Embassy of Italy Purchase Prize Recipient), Zean Cabangis, Lesley-Anne Cao, Ronyel Compra, JC Jacinto, Lilianna Manahan, Krista Nogueras, Henrielle Baltazar Pagkaliwangan, and Jel Suarez.
